 Our commitment to the community:
- Thanks to the well-preserved water sources in our land, we supply clean and pure water to the towns of La Flor, La Tabla, and Santa Rita.
- We are frequent donors to the local Red Cross and Church.
- We help the community with road maintenance.
- We sponsor the school of La Flor (infrastructure construction and maintenance, purchase of computers, printers and school supplies for children, among others). Also, in order to raise awareness on the importance of preserving our biodiversity, we frequently take groups of students to our farm to teach them about our sustainable pineapple production.
 Our commitment to our employees:
We fully comply with Costa Rican labor laws: working time is 48 hours per week and over time is compensated in the rate of 1.5 times. Workers are entitled to a two-week paid vacation for every fifty weeks of labor and to 13-month wages per year. Also, every Sunday and official holidays are paid, and when worked, the worker receives a double payment. Pregnant workers are entitled to a paid maternity leave of four months.
We hire women and men equally; and we do not hire minors (all our workers are over 18 years old). Additionally, our employees receive the following benefits:
- Health and accident insurance for them and their families.
- Solidarity Union (Asociación Solidarista).
- Preventive medicine program.
- Legal assistance.
- Excellent working facilities: spacious dining room for their lunch break, fresh, clean drinking water and outdoor toilet systems with clean water for them to use when working on the fields.
- Very clean environment, especially in the Packaging Area (air conditioning and ozone purification system).
- Credit facilities.
- Incentive program based on production and twice-a-year bonus.
- Free private transportation to the farm.
- All immigrants working for us (about 37% of our workforce is comprised by Nicaraguans) have legal status in our country, and they enjoy the same guarantees and benefits as our Costa Rican employees.
